Jolie’s children to appear in Cleopatra?
Superstar Angelina Jolie has reportedly landed roles for all of her six children in Cleopatra, which will also see her appear opposite fiance Brad Pitt. The 39-year-old actress and Pitt had previously said that they did not want their brood – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and five-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, to follow them into acting, it was reported. “Their whole family life is rooted in films but Brad and Ange didn’t want the children to follow in their footsteps. However, acting is in their genes, and it could turn out to be the start of something big for the next generation,” a source said. Vivienne had appeared alongside her mother in Maleficent, but Jolie said she only let that happen after a long discussion with Pitt. “I only put Vivienne in the film because the other children her age would be scared of me because I looked quite scary as Maleficent. Neither one of us want our children to be actors, Brad and I, but it was just I really couldn’t ask another four or five-year-old to do it,” she had said. (PTI)
Glee makers lose appeal over copyright infringement
After challenging a ruling over the hit TV musical Glee, executives behind series have lost a copyright appeal in Britain. In 2011, Twentieth Century Fox was hit with legal action by Comic Enterprises, the owners of a chain of British comedy stores called The Glee Club. Comic Enterprises alleged that the programme’s popularity had affected their business as customers had been confused by the similarity in name and had been “put off” from attending shops after learning they were not affiliated, reports contactmusic.com. Glee producers were asked to change the name of the show for British broadcasts or pull the show from screens completely, after a ruling in Feburary 2014 in the favour of the plantiff. The ruling was upheld in London’s High Court after the defendant challenged the decision, claiming the name change was unnecessary, unfair and disproportionate. (IANS)
