SHILLONG: The HSPDP Central Executive Committee (CEC) has decided to dissolve its various units in the three districts of Ri-Bhoi, East and West and Jaintia Hills to pave way for entry of new members into the party.
Informing this here on Tuesday, party vice president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit said the HSPDP’s organising body had proposed to the CEC to dissolve the party units in order to strengthen it in the three districts.
“We need to enrol new and energetic members who would be able to work in a better and effective manner,” Basaiawmoit said.
He also said that the party will construct its office at the land allotted near PGT College here.
“We would soon organize a fund raising programme for construction of the party office,” the HSPDP vice president added.
Meanwhile, he also informed that the CEC has decided to reiterate its opposition to uranium mining in the State.
The party would also continue to urge the State Government to push for early resolution of the inter-State boundary dispute with Assam.
