Threat

One Witherson B Marak lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on July 16 at about 4 pm, one Rikrak B Marak demanded Rs. 3 lakh from him and threatened him with dire consequences at Upper Joyranggre village (WGH).

One Khileswar Boro, Chief Manager (Credit & NPA), SBI Regional Office Dhankheti, Shillong lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on July 12 around 8.45 pm, he received a threatening letter to shoot or kidnap him from an unidentified organization of Khyndailad, Shillong.

Theft

On July 18 at around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole 34 batteries valued around Rs 3 lakh from the premises of M/s American Tower Company at Mooralong, Jowai (WJH).

On July 17 at around 1 am, unknown miscreants stole 46 batteries from an Airtel Mobile Tower at Tuber village (EJH).

On July 17 at around 7.30 am, one Timothy Nifsud boarded a local taxi (number not known) from Rynjah to Umpling, Shillong and on reaching Umpling he got down but the taxi fled away with his belongings laptop, table and wrist watch.

On July 17, unknown miscreants stole a mobile hand set belonging to one Praveen Kumar Sharma from Bramhome Guest House, Police Bazar.

On the night of July 16, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-2709) belonging to Tengsan R Marak from Nikrang Ading, Tura (WGH).

On July 21 at around 4 am, unknown armed miscreants (3/4) looted Rs. 1 lakh from a wine shop belonging to the woman identified as Phristilian Kharbhih at Nongkriah village under Dangar outpost in East Khasi Hills.

On July 20 night, one Md. Abul Ali and Md. Nurul Islam stole one set of battery from M/s Reliance mobile tower at Selsella, West Garo Hills. Police arrested both the accused.

On July 20 at around 4.30 pm, an official from M/s YFC lodged a complaint at Umiam police station that unknown miscreants stole 14 shuttering plates valued around Rs. 36,000 from a construction site at National Highway, Umiam (Ri Bhoi).

On July 19 at around 11.30 pm, one Md. Arman Sheik along with his seven accomplices forcibly entered the house of Md. Mokkar Ali Sheik at Patrangga village (WGH) and took away one Godrej almirah.

On July 18 night, miscreants broke into the shop of Rajesh Pal, Omrith Ch Momin, Johet Sangma at Jengjal Bazar in West Khasi Hills and stole grocery items valued around Rs. 2,50,370 and cash Rs. 15,500. The miscreants also stole IMFL valued around Rs. 1,31,770 and cash Rs. 4600 from the Wine Store of Tengchi D Shira at Jengjal Bazar (WKH).

ATM vandalized

Saptarishi Choudhury, Branch Manager, SBI Jowai lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 16 evening, unknown miscreants vandalized the SBI ATM at Chutwakhu, Jowai (WJH).

Fraud

One Raphael Syngkli of Mawiong Umjapung, Shillong lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on July 11 around 1 pm, he received an anonymous call from two numbers where the caller asked his account number and ATM PIN Code and he provided the details. On July 12, an amount of Rs. 13,680 was fraudulently debited from his account.

Attack

On July 16, one four year and eleven month old girl was sexually assaulted by a 14-year-old boy at Pohkseh West-III, Shillong.

Molestation

A woman lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat PS that on July 7, while her four-and-half-year old daughter was returning home from school, one unidentified person molested her in an isolated place at Mawthawpdah village (SWKH).

Drugs case

On July 17 at around 6.30 am, residents of Sngithiang, Lower Mawprem, apprehended one Bansuklang Lyngdoh who was selling drugs and handed over to Police. On his admission, Police arrested one accomplice identified as , Joey Pakyntein.

Assault

A woman identified as Namita Deka lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on July 20 at around 7 pm, one Nimi Danggo assaulted her and her sister Sushmita Deka at Police Reserve, Shillong. However, Nimi Danggo lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on July 20 at around 7 pm, Sushmita Deka and her sister Namita Deka abused and assaulted her at Police Reserve, Shillong. As a result, the complainant sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Accident

On July 19 at around 6 pm, one Maruti Alto car (ML-10A-2416) driven by Bidon Khymdeit (22) collided with a truck (AS-01-BC-2345) at Pahamsyiem (Ri Bhoiu). As a result, the Maruti Alto car driver and other occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong.

On July 21 at around 9.30 am, one Maruti van (ML-05J-0476) driven by Banistone Lyngdoh fatally knocked down a woman Riti Khongdup (65) at Neng Gate, Pynursla . A criminal case has been registered and the driver arrested.

Arrest

A woman lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police station that on July 20 at about 8 am, one Tro Shylla raped her 10-year-old daughter at Byndihati village,East Jaintia Hills. Police arrested the accused.

Attempt to rape

On July 20 at about 4 pm, one Hoin Shadap attempted to rape one woman of Mulang village at Kyndawwasoo village (WJH).

Blessingstar Khongshun lodged a complaint at Pynursla police station that on July 19 at around 8 pm, his uncle Snowel Khongshun (54) went to the residence of a woman identified as Siona Khongshun at Dewsaw Pathaw village in East Khasi Hills and created nuisance and also threatened her family members with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.

Extortion

Md. Afial Haque of Sarkarpara,WGH, lodged a complaint at Phulbari police that on July 18, he received an anonymous phone call demanding Rs 5 lakh from him and Rs 7 lakh from his friend identified as Md. Sofiqul Mollah. Later, two persons went to Renigre village to collect the demanded money, and one of them namely Mitun B Sangma was apprehended by the villagers.
