Home Guards threaten protest rally

SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills Forest Territorial Home Guards have threatened to organize a rally on July 30 to protest the nonpayment of their salaries.

“It has been quite some time since we were dismissed but our salaries have not been paid yet,” the All Garo Hills Forest Territorial Home Guards said adding that their members will take part in the rally in full uniform along with their spouses and children.

The Home Guards said that they are facing many difficulties and had written to the concerned official about their problems but to no avail.
