SHILLONG: The KSU, Mawlai circle was reconstituted on Friday after the body was dissolved when some of its members, including its former president, Donboklang Kharlyngdoh were expelled from the Union for “an act of indiscipline”.

Khalyngdoh had formed a new organization called Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) with over 200 members, most of them being former leaders and members of the KSU from different districts of Khasi and Jaintia Hills region.

The election of the new office bearers of the circle was held in the presence of its president Daniel Khyriem, NESO chairman and former president, Samuel Jyrwa and organizing secretary Basharai Warjri.

The newly elected members include Biangbor Lyngdoh Paliar (president), Dakinshalang Malngiang (vice president), Rapbor Nongrum (general secretary), Iver Thabah (assistant general secretary) among others.

Kharlyngdoh had claimed that he was expelled for questioning the leadership on the climb down of the Union from the demand for Inner Line Permit (ILP).
