SHILLONG: The office of the Ri-Bhoi District Sports Officer (DSO) will conduct the 10km Open Run in the three blocks of Ri-Bhoi district under the District Sports Promotion Society Scheme to commemorate Indian Independence Day.
All three races will begin at 7:00am.
The first of the three races will be held in Jirang Block on August 9 at Patharkhmah Ground. The last date for registration is August 8.
August 12 will see the Umling Block race from St Paul, Nongpoh. The last date of registration is August 10.
Umsning Block will host its race on August 13 from Nongjri Outdoor Stadium and the last date for registration is August 11.
Participants should register with the DSO’s office or with the office of the respective Block Development Officer.
Winners of the races will receive Rs 5,000, with Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 going to the second and third place finishers, respectively.
Specials prizes are on offer for the oldest and youngest participants.
