Guv condoles Madhukar Dighe’s demise

SHILLONG:Meghalaya Governor, K K Paul has condoled the death of former Governor of Meghalaya, Madhukar Dighe.

In his condolence letter sent to the son of late Madhukar Dighe on Sunday, Paul wrote,

“I express my profound grief at the sad demise of your beloved father at Gurgaon and convey my deepest condolences to you and the bereaved family and pray that God gives you the strength to bear this loss”,

The Governor said that Dighe, who was a renowned freedom fighter, had a long and distinguished career and an illustrious public life. As the Governor of Meghalaya, he had made valuable contributions during his tenure in the early nineties. People of the state have fond memories of his helpful nature. In his demise, the Nation has lost a sterling personality.” I, on my own behalf and the people of Meghalaya convey my deepest condolences on this irreparable loss”, the Governor added.

Late Dighe served as the Meghalaya Governor from May 10, 1990 to June 18,1995.
