SHILLONG: In view of the HANM’s proposed sit-in demonstration in front of Meghalaya High Court where a hearing will be held on NGT’s ban rat hole mining in Meghalaya on Thursday, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has promulgated Section 144 CrPC.

With this order, assembly of five or more people within 200 metre radius of Meghalaya High Court has been prohibited.

Similarly, carrying of arms and other lethal weapons has also been prohibited.

However, official sources said that the order would not be applicable to security forces and Government staff.
