FKJGP check trading license, lock Syiem’s office

NONGPOH: In order to assist the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), the FKJGP, Byrnihat Circle conducted a check of trading license of hawkers in Jorabat and Byrnihat.

Led by its president, Lumlang Mawnai, the FKJGP members claim to have detected many hawkers operating without proper papers.

During the course of checking, the FKJGP also put the office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem under lock and key alleging that it was being run by non tribals.

Speaking to pressmen, Mawnai said that the Federation had taken the initiative to ease the burden of the District Council in detecting the illegal operators.

The FKJGP, Byrnihat Circle also slammed the recent attack on KHADC officials and a journalist allegedly by hawkers at Iewduh.
