Itanagar: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that various factors caused the delay in completion of Aalo to Pasight 132 KV transmission line project. Responding to a question raised in the assembly during Question Hour by BJP member Kaling Moyong on Thursday, Tuki said the state government had earmarked Rs 10 crore in the current budget for completion of the project by 2015.
He said the project was slowed as local people were claiming compensation at par with that of Trans Arunachal Highway, besides non-release of final instalment of Rs 6.45 crore since March 2009 by the DoNER ministry.
Moreover, he said, transportation of materials to the site hindered by the construction work of Trans Arunachal Highway and resultant re-alignment of transmission line due to construction works of the highway were other factors for the inordinate delay.
Tuki further informed that the project would be completed by March next if DoNER ministry releases its last instalment and the state government releases the required fund as state share in this financial year.
Replying to another question by PPA member Tirong Aboh, the chief minister said that Border Area Dvpt Programme has been implemented keeping in view the special needs of the people living along the international border. (PTI)
