SHILLONG:  A day after Chief Minister Mukul Sangma slammed the splinter group of ANVC – ANVC (B) – for maintaining a close link with Pakistan’s ISI, the outfit on Saturday dared Sangma to get his allegation probed earthier by NIA of CBI.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, ANVC-B leader Doang Shira said that the outfit was ready for a high-level probe as “this is a serious matter and it needs to be thoroughly investigated”.
“The Chief Minister should step down as he is the one who is protecting those who are having contacts with ISI. Last few years we
have been keeping track of Mukul’s activities, right from his foreign visits (which are often routed via Dubai) to secret close door meetings,” he said.
Stating that Sangma’s allegation is very serious with sole objective to malign the outfit, he said that Chief Minister should hand over the case to Central agencies “failing which it would mean Mukul himself is at fault.”
Sangma on Friday said that ISI has probably spread their network in the state and working with the breakaway faction of the ANVC-B, a militant group operating in Garo Hills region of the state.
