BAGHMARA: Irked over the prolonged absence of Baghmara MeECL SDO, Sujith Hajong from duty, the Garo Students Union, Southern Zone has warned the official of strict action if the truancy continues.
GSU Southern Zone general secretary, Walbinath Ch Marak said on Thursday that the Union had visited the MeECL office at Baghmara on July 30 and found that Hajong was absent from duty.
Further inquiry revealed that the officer in question hardly attended office and was staying in Williamnagar in East Garo Hills from where he directed his staff.
Vexed by the officer’s dereliction of duty, the GSU has demanded that the official should immediately resume office failing which strict action would be taken against him.
The Union has also demanded Hajong’s immediate resignation if he fails to attend office.
