NGT ban violation

On the morning of July  31, while conducting vehicle checking at Nongstoin (WKH), Police detected one truck (ML-04B-0466) driven by Neverdon Nongrum, transporting coal in violation of NGT ban.
On July 30 around 1 pm, while conducting vehicle checking at Mawlangtriang village (WKH), Police detected one truck (ML-05-3242) driven by Precious Nongrum (38), transporting coal in violation of NGT ban.

Injured

On July 31, one unidentified vehicle knocked down Baiamonlang Lyngdoh (25) near B.K Bajoria School, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Theft

One K Khonglam, EE, PHE lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on the night of July  14, unknown miscreants stole 40 GI pipes from Thadmynri Water Supply Scheme in West Jaintia Hills.
On the night of July 11, unknown miscreants stole 35 GI pipes from Thadmukoh village in West Jaintia Hills.
On August 1 at around 8.45 am, unknown miscreants stole   gold bangles / rings / chain and  Rs. 12,000- belonging to one  Dibapriya Choudhury from her house at Upland Road, Shillong.

Rape cases

A person lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police station that on July 29 at around 1 pm, one Raju Singh raped the complainant’s seven-year-old daughter in a coal camp at Jaintia Cements Area in East Jaintia Hills. Police arrested the accused.
On July 29 at around 5.30 pm, one Brik Marboh raped one three-year-old girl at Nonghali (East Khasi Hills.
A woman lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that during the month of May 2014, one Manostar Kharsohnoh (22) raped her 17-year-old niece at Mawlynrei, East Khasi Hills.
In another incident, a person lodged a complaint at Tura Women police station that on July 30 at around 1 pm, one Sujit Mondal attempted to rape his (complainant) daughter in their house at Danakgre, Tura, West Garo Hills.

Hijacking

One Brijesh Rana lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on July 28 at around 8 pm, unidentified miscreants hijacked one Bolero vehicle (ML-05-J-6294) from Anjalee Petrol Pump, Shillong and later dumped the driver and his friend in a paddy field near Jorabat, Assam from where fled away with the vehicle.

Education fraud

One  Pious Marboh lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that in the year 2013 he submitted the Kendriya Vidyalaya, NEHU, Shillong Class X and XII certificates  of his daughter to one agency viz. Career and College, Upland Road, Shillong for admission at Uydehi Institute of Nursing Science and Research Centre, Bengaluru, Karnataka. His daughter was admitted in the Institute. However, on May 8, 2014, the Principal of the Institute detected his daughter’s Class XII passed certificate, mark sheet, transfer certificates, were from Sankerdev College, Shillong instead of Kendriya Vidyalaya, NEHU, Shillong.

Parcel scam

One lady lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that between July 18 and 24, 2014, she befriended one Christopher Dominic of United Kingdom through Facebook who informed her that he had sent a parcel in her name through Worldwide Express. For claiming the gift she had deposited Rs. 1,81,900  in different accounts on different dates, but she never received the parcel.

Body found

On August 2 at around 9 am, one unidentified male person (60) was found lying at 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong. He was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Chain snatched

Debapriya Das lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that on July 31 at around 1.30 pm, three unidentified persons in local taxi (number not known) snatched away gold chain from her at RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong.

Loot

One Wilson Sangma lodged a complaint at Ranikor police station that on July 30 at around 11 pm, five unidentified miscreants armed with lethal weapons went to his house at 18th Mile, Ranikor (South West Khasi Hills) and looted Rs. 4,500 and two cell phones.
