SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women organized a leadership training and capacity building programme for adolescent girls at the Meghalaya Bharat Scout and Guides here from August 1-2.

The objective of the programme was to equip young girls with information and knowledge on various rights, leadership skills and other issues to help them develop their personality and decision making process.

Over 36 girls from different educational institutions Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi & East Khasi Hills participated in the programme.

The resource persons for the two-day programme were drawn from People’s Learning Centre, Meghalaya Police, Health Department and Meghalaya State Commission for Women among others.
