SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organizations (MAKO) has called for the financial assistance for five participants from Meghalaya to take part in the WAKO Cadets and Juniors World Kickboxing Championship 2014 from September 6 to 14, Rimini, Italy.

In an appeal made by the association, MAKO has sought financial assistance for participants viz.- Lorenza Songthiang, Belldona Pakyntein, Francis R R Songthiang, Edward Mawtho and Hame Shaniah Suiam, since the probable participants and the association alone are unable to meet the expenses required to participate in the said championship.

“As it is quite difficult for them to make it to Italy on their own, MAKO on behalf of the participants, is making an appeal to stake holders, well-wishers and the government for their financial assistance,” the association stated.

According to MAKO considering the achievement and medal winning tally, three cadets and two juniors’ athletes under the guidance of Donny Ranee, Founder, Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organizations have been selected to take part in the WAKO Cadets & Juniors World Kickboxing Championships 2014.
