SHILLONG: KHADC Chief Executive Member Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday and took up the discrepancy in the sharing of royalty between the State Government and KHADC from taxes on minor and major minerals and motor vehicles.
Basaiawmoit told reporters after his meeting with the Chief Minister that while the share of royalty between the State Government and District Council is on a 60:40 pattern the practice is not followed.
The meeting assumes significance following the ban on coal mining by NGT which has affected the earnings of the KHADC.
