Rights panel selection on August 14

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will chair a meeting of Selection Committee on August 14 to select the chairman and members to the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission.

Besides the Chief Minister, Home Minister Roshan Warji and Opposition Leader Donkupar Roy are other members of the selection committee.

Earlier, the Home Department had written to the Meghalaya High Court to select the name for the Chairman of the Commission

Moreover, the Home department had also written to both sitting and retired policemen to be selected as the member of the Commission.
