NEW DELHI: Absence of a full-fledged Vice Chancellor of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) for almost a year has prompted Lok Sabha member from Shillong, Vincent H. Pala, to seek the intervention of the Centre.

Raising the matter in the Lok Sabha, Pala said that a search committee had been constituted to select a suitable candidate for the post of Vice Chancellor, but the committee has failed to select anyone for the purpose.

“I urge the Central Government to appoint a Vice Chancellor at the earliest in the best interest of the students and the people of Northeastern states,” Pala said.
