2 killed, 14 hurt in road mishap

SHILLONG: A passenger of a night bus and a truck driver were killed and fourteen others were injured when the bus dashed against a timber laden truck at Makhanu, Shillong by-pass in East Khasi Hills on Saturday at around 3.45 am According to police, the truck driver Konestar Kharmalki (45) and the passenger of the night super bus Sahidur Rehman Laskar (32) died on the spot. Fourteen passengers of the bus (AS-24C-2944), who sustained injuries, were shifted to NEIGRIHMS and Civil Hospital, Shillong.
