Assault

On August 7 at around 11.30 am, three persons Wikey Mynsong, Gilbert Marbaniang and Isabella Marbaniang assaulted one Benitha Baruah at her residence at Keating Road, Shillong.

Murder

On August 7, Richardstone Jana Nongbet was found murdered in the residence of Melery Lyngdoh at Lumshyiap, Golf Links, Shillong. Police arrested Melery Lyngdoh.

Accidents

On August 9 at around 10 am, one Hyundai Eon car ML-05K-4665) driven by one Lumlang Pohsngot (41) dashed against one Maruti car (ML-08-7916) driven by a woman, Josha Lene R Kharteng (34), and then collided with one tourist maxi cab (ML-10A-6605) driven by Jhul Jana (38) at Mawlai Marten. As a result, the driver of Hyundai Eon car and two passengers of the tourist maxi cab sustained injuries and were removed to civil hospital Shillong.

On August 9 at around 12.20 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05L-0121) driven by Iengskhem Marak (26) skidded off the road near NEHU at Mawlai Mawkynroh, Shillong. As a result, the rider sustained injuries and was removed to KJP Hospital, Shillong.

Woman escapes

A woman a lodged a complaint at Laban police station that on August 8 at around 6.30 pm, one Rex Briller Marak went to her residence, assaulted her and then forcibly took her in her vehicle towards Mawlai, where he asked her to drop him upto Byrnihat (RB). However, she raised an alarm and managed to get out of the vehicle while the accused person fled away leaving the vehicle behind.

Threat

One Disken Myrthong of Mawkaphan village (EKH) lodged a complaint at Mawsynram police station that on July 28, he received a complaint letter against him from the Dorbar Shnong, Mawkaphan. On the same day (Jul. 28), the Dorbar Shnong held a meeting and decided to ostracize him and also to impose social as well as economic boycott against him. On the night of August 4 and 5, a group of people led by one Bani Disiar and Ricky Disiar went to his residence, abused and threatened him with dire consequences.

lBishnu Thapa lodged an FIR at Rynjah PS that on August 6 around 9 pm, her husband Sunil Kumar Thapa and her mother-in-law Banjmaya Thapa harassed, assaulted and threatened her and her mother with dire consequences in their residence at Kiran Line, Lapalang, Shillong.

lBanjmaya Gurung lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on August 6 around 11 pm, her daughter-in-law Bishnu Thapa along with others assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences in her house at Kiran Line, Lapalang, Shillong.

Theft

One Gonokh Nath Rai lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on August 4, unknown miscreants stole three batteries and three drilling rods valued around Rs. 54,726 from Topcem Cements, at Thangskai (EJH).

lPhalding Sohshang lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on August 2, unknown miscreants stole DVD Players and other items valued around Rs. 1 lakh from his shop at Nongstoin Market (WKH).

Fake cheque

The Assistant General Manager, SBI, Main Branch, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that a cheque dated July 31, 2014, of Rs. 55 lakh in favour of Bablu Khonglah was presented in the Bank through Punjab National Bank, Laitumkhrah, Shillong was found to be fake.

Attempted murder

Charles Sohshang lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on August 6 midnight, one Hestar Syiemlieh (40 yrs) threatened the complainant, the VDP Members and the Joint Secretary of Marngar village (WKH) and attempted to kill them with a knife. Later, the VDP members apprehended him, seized the knife and handed him over to Police at Nongstoin PS.
