Accidents across Meghalaya

A TATA Sumo (AS11BC- 3076) heading towards Guwahati from Aizawl was involved in a head-on collision with a truck (NLO1K – 1588) coming from the opposite direction. The incident happened at Mukhla under Thadlaskein Block, West Jaintia Hills on August 10 at 12:30 pm. Zoa (35), Zomingthanga (24), Tluanga Jongthu (28), M.S. Dawngliana (38) and two unknown males were shifted to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.

Two occupants of a TATA Winger (AS01DC-1294) sustained injuries when the vehicle bound for Tura from Krishnai hit a wall on the side of the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle at Boro Gokul under Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills. Florence Momin (45) and Christina Sangma (50) were shifted to Solace Hospital, Goalpara. The incident took place on August 10 at 8:20 am.

A motorist sustained injuries during a collision between a motorbike and a truck at 6th Mile, Upper Shillong on August 9, at 7 pm. The motorist Wankupar Mawlong (20) was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital and then to Nazareth Hospital. The motorbike was coming towards Shillong while the truck was coming from the opposite direction.

A truck carrying an earth moving vehicle (JCB) drove off the road and went down into a gorge after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver of the truck and two other occupants sustained injuries. The truck was moving towards Nongtrai from Guwahati when the incident happened at Phlangmawsyrpat under Mawsynram Block, East Khasi Hills on August 9 at 6:45 pm. Sanjay Singh (23), Bimal Gaur (25) and the driver of the truck Rupnarayan Mahanto (52) were shifted to Mawsynram CHC.

A Maruti Getz heading towards Shillong was involved in a collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Lad Smit under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on August 9 at 7:30 pm. Sunny Singh Son (23), Neshak Sawanset (25), Benjamin Rangma (23) and an unknown male were shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
