SHILLONG: The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Shillong in association with the District Sports Office, Ri Bhoi district, will conduct a block-level Quiz and Debate competition to select participants for the District-level and the subsequent State-level competitions.
The competition for schools under Jirang Block will be held on September 2 at St. Peter Sec. School, Umkadhor. For Umsning Block the competition would be held on August 29 at St. Michael’s H.S. School, Umsning while for Umling Block the events would be held on August 26 at St. Paul Sec. School, Umsning.
The District-level competitions would be held at Circuit House/ Science Hall, Nongpoh on September 9.
Winners at the block-level would be awarded cash prizes of Rs.2000, Rs.1500 and Rs.1000 respectively while the winners of the district-level events would be awarded Rs.4000, Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 respectively. Each school has to depute two teams consisting of two members each for the two events. The entries have to be submitted to the respective offices of the BDO or the District Sports office, Nongpoh, on or before August 22.
