SHILLONG: Police have arrested four persons in connection with a murder of a boy.
Informing this here on Sunday, East Khasi Hills police chief M Kharkrang said that the accused had allegedly assaulted one Lamphrang Uriah (30 years) at Bishop Falls, Shillong on August 8.
Later, injured Lamphrang was admitted to the Shillong Civil Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries According to him, the accused were in inebriated condition when the incident took place.
The arrest was made on a basis of a complaint lodged by the mother of the deceased.
The arrested persons are Lambhakupar Lyngdoh (26), Richard Warjri (19), Steward Lyngdoh (18) and Pyndaplang L Nonglait (25).
Meanwhile, the Mawprem Dorbar Shnong in a statement has clarified that the four arrested people were not associated with Seng Samla Mawprem as they had claimed.
“They are anti-social elements and they were even warned by the Dorbar Shnong in the past,” the statement said.
