By-election 3 Assam LACs and Sept 16

Guwahati: The Election Commission (EC) of India has announced bye-elections to three Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Assam on September 16 next.

The three LACs which will go to polls are 9-Silchar, 13-Lakhipur and 90-Jamunamukh assembly constituencies.

The polling will take place on September 13, 2014 (Saturday) and the counting of votes will take place on September 16, 2014 (Tuesday).

The last date of making nominations is August 27 (Wednesday) while scrutiny of the nominations will take place on August 28 (Thursday). The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is

August 30 (Saturday). The entire election process shall be completed before September 19 (Friday).

The electoral rolls of these Assembly Constituencies have been revised with reference to 01.01.2014 as the qualifying date and have been finally published on 06.01.2014.
