1st Div football: Nongkrem rally to secure draw

SHILLONG: Nongkrem rallied to secure a draw against Laitlyngkot in a First Division football match at Polo Grounds here on Monday.
Laitlyngkot took a 53rd minute lead when K. Syiemiong sent a shot past the keeper. However, S. Nongsiej turned out to be Nongkrem’s man of the moment. He helped his side equalise only three minutes later to secure a point.
In a Third Division match, Lumpyngad and Lumdiengjri also settled for a 1-1 draw. Lumpyngad drew first blood through a S. Lyngdoh strike in the 24th minute before D. Kharjana made it 1-1 for Lumdiengjri in the 32nd minute.
On Tuesday, Laitumkhrah will face Shillong United in a First Division match at 4 pm while Pynthorbah will play Qualapatty in a Third Division encounter at 4:15 pm.
