HILLONG: In a noble initiative towards assisting the common masses in tackling the problem of price rise, the North Eastern Economical Development Society (NEEDS) has come up with a customer care card for their lifetime members to allow them to avail essential items at a cheaper price.

“We have designed a lifetime membership card which is popularly known as Customer Care Card to solve the problem of price hike. By using this card, people can now minimize their expenditure and save their earnings by availing the essential items at cheaper rates,” NEEDS general manager Pritam Lahiri told newsmen here on Tuesday.

He said that the lifetime members can avail the facility by enlisting their names with the organisation for lifetime by paying Rs.999 for seven members of the family for the entire life time.

“We offer discounts ranging from 3 per cent to 60 per cent to our esteemed members on essential commodities,” Lahiri said.

He said that they also assist the members to avail other basic facilities at cheaper rates like hospitals, hotels, educational institutions and others.

He also informed that NEEDS has tied up with more than 5,000 outlets across the North Eastern Region where their customer care card would be accepted.

“In Shillong we have tied up with over 57 outlets,” Lahiri said.

He said that they would provide the cards at Rs.100 each for the BPL families and physically-challenged people.
