Shillong: A film on the impact upon the common people due to coal mining ban in Meghalaya will be released in this year. This was announced by P F Lyngdoh, producer here on Wednesday.

Titled ‘Daei’, the film is currently being shot and is produced by Western Khasi Entertainment.

‘We expect to release the film this winter,” Lyngdoh said.

According to Lyngdoh, the title of the film was based on the question being asked by people who have lost their livelihood due to the coal mining ban imposed by National Green Tribunal.

‘People who directly or indirectly depend on coal mining for their livelihood are asking the question of what they will do next to survive,’ Lyngdoh said adding that their miserable lives will be highlighted in the film that is under production. (UNI)
