TURA: Non-payment of salary to GHADC staff for the past five months has irked MDCs of the Opposition NPP in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) who have now demanded immediate disbursement of the pending salaries.

NPP MDC from Batabari constituency, Roynath D Sangma, informed that they had earlier taken up the matter with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma who promised to look into it, but to no avail.

NPP MDC from Williamnagar, Denang Sangma, also expressed his unhappiness over the issue.

“We are not happy with the functioning of the current CEM with regard to the delay in payment of salaries. The salaries of the staff should be immediately released so as to ease the problems of the employees,” he said.
