SHILLONG: The ANVC-B on Wednesday accused Chief Minister Mukul Sangma of secretly issuing a “shoot at sight” order against its cadres, IGP in-charge administration and operation, G.H.P. Raju, has denied that any such order has been ordered.

Raju dismissed the claims saying that it was a false accusation and the Meghalaya Police has not received any such order from the State Government.

ANVC-B political secretary Doang Shira, in a statement on Wednesday, stated that Mukul Sangma has secretly issued a “shoot at sight” order against its cadres and added that these are desperate schemes aiming to exploit the prevailing situation in Garo Hills.

Shira also said that the Garo Hills legislators, the State Congress and civil society groups must take a stand on the ‘secret killing plot’ of the government.

“If Mukul wants to adopt killing as a mechanism, we will resist it. It is our right to live. We will not put the lives of our cadres at stake anymore. If Mukul starts the fire, it will burn till his last supporter gets a dose of his own medicine. The situation is very vulnerable. This includes all Congress workers,” the statement added.
