SHILLONG: A fresh case of Japanese Encephalitis is reported in the State. This time it is from South West Garo Hills.
Joint Director of Health Services, in charge integrated disease surveillance project, Dr RO Budnah informed on Friday that a woman identified as Silatha Sangma(22) hailing from Dombagre under Zigzak PHC, South Garo Hills was diagnosed with  Japanese  Encephalitis on Thursday. She is currently undergoing treatment at Tura Civil Hospital.
This is the second case reported from Garo Hills as earlier among the 32 cases reported all over the State , one case was from West Garo Hills.
Precautions are being taken to contain the disease, Budnah added.
