Man held for sending porn clip to police helpline
New Delhi: A man has been arrested for allegedly posting a pornographic clip at the recently launched WhatsApp anti-corruption helpline of the Delhi Police. The accused identified as Chandan Singh was arrested by the New Delhi District Police after it received a complaint from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vigilance) on August 19. Initially, he had sent one porn video on the helpline. The sender was then requested not to send such videos but he went on to send two more such videos following which a complaint was given, police said on Friday. “We registered a case under appropriate sections under the IT Act at Barakhamba police station and he was arrested. The mobile phone of the accused which was used in the crime was also recovered from his possession,” said Add Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) SBS Tyagi. (PTI)
Youth killed mistakenly by revenge-seekers
New Delhi: Three persons stabbed to death a youth they thought was involved in the murder of their relative, in Wazirpur area of northwest Delhi, but was not the person they were looking for. 21-year-old Golu had gone to the market area on Wednesday when the trio approached him and asked his name. As soon as he revealed his name, they allegedly stabbed him to death. However, they later learnt that they were looking for some other Golu, said a police official. The three alleged killers, Sanjay (19) and two minors, have been apprehended, the official said. Four persons had killed a youth named Sanjeev Rana in the same area on Sunday. (PTI)
AI flight forced to land in Jaipur after engine trouble
Jaipur/New Delhi:An Air India flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad carrying 104 passengers made an emergency landing in Jaipur after a problem in one of its engines. The Airbus 321, which left Delhi at 6 AM, landed safely at 7:25 AM here, Sanganer Airport Director S N Borkar said. He said the pilot informed the Jaipur ATC about some technical problem in the aircraft following which it was diverted and allowed to land here. Station Manager of Air India Anil said, “There was some problem in one of the engines of the plane”. (PTI)
College clerk shot dead over group fight
Sambhal: A college clerk was shot dead after a clash erupted between two rival groups of students in Chandausi police station area here this morning. The rival groups had clashed in Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College two days ago, but the teachers had pacified them at the moment, said Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Singh. The two groups clashed again on Friday when the teachers and the college staff had come out to broker peace between them, during which one of them fired at the college clerk Ashutosh Pathak, killing him on the spot, Singh said.
