New Delhi: Rivers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were flowing close to the danger levels, the government said on Saturday, after montoring the latest recordings.
Ghagra river in Siwan district of Bihar continued to flow in High Flood Situation, the Ministry of Water Resources said. At 6 am, it was flowing at 61.42 m with rising trend, 0.6 m above its danger level of 60.82 m and 0.32 m below its previous Highest Flood Level of 61.74 mts recorded on August 29, 1998, a ministry statement said.
At Gangpur in Siwan, the river was flowing at a level of 57.85 m with rising trend, 0.81 m above its Danger Level of 57.04 m and 0.16 m below its previous HFL of 58.01 m recorded on September 18, 1983. Rapti river, which has been created havoc in the past few days, has receded in Balrampur of Uttar Pradesh from High Flood Situation to Moderate Flood Situation on Friday. (PTI)
