ATM looting case

On August 24 around 1.30 am, two unidentified miscreants attempted to loot the HDFC ATM at Pahamsohthi, GS Road (Ri-Bhoi) and damaged the same.

Theft

Phrangsngi Mawthoh lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on August 24 around 5 am, one Rupa Wanroy was apprehended while attempting to commit theft from a steel fabrication shop of the complainant at Mawlai Nonglum Block-III, Shillong.

Newvera Dkhar lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on August 22 around 3.30 pm, unknown miscreants broke into her house at Caroline Colony, Jowai (WJH) and stole gold, mobile phone and cash total valued around Rs. 1,17,000.

Berlinda Kharmawphlang lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on August 19 around 2.45 am, unknown miscreants entered her residence at BK Cottage, Nongrim Hills, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, and stole Rs. 4,400 and a torch light.

Murder

Prissila Salahe lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on August 23 around 8.30 pm, one Lambha Rabon murdered her brother Kram Salahe in his residence at Thangtring village (WGH). Police arrested the accused person.

Wanpynche Sungoh lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on August 22 around 9.30 pm, unknown miscreants murdered his brother Ioh Shaphrang Sungoh in his house at Salini Colony, Jowai (WJH).

Accident case

On August 23 around 4 pm, one maxi cab (ML-04A-5365) driven by Triborme Lyngshiang (24) capsized at Jongksha Ladkharang (EKH). As a result, the driver and ten other occupants including women and four minors sustained injuries. Injured victims were removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong where one of the injured Smt. Philista Suting (40) died. Matter is under enquiry.

Assault

Radha Rani Talukdar lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on August 22 around 10 am one Nirmalu Thapa and her boyfriend, one G. Pasi, went to her residence at RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong and assaulted her and asked her to sign on a piece of paper.

Nirmalu Thapa lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on August 22 night, she went to the residence of Radha Rani Talukdar at RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong, to ask her to repay an amount of Rs. 3,50,000 which she had taken from the complainant in 2012. But instead, the accused hit the complainant on her head with a bottle and when her (complainant) husband G. Pasi tried to settle the matter, he was threatened by her.

Dacoity case

On August 21, Police arrested two persons Jiskel Sangma (45) and Silpan D Sangma (23) in connection with a dacoity case under Mendipathar PS.

Kidnapping case

On August 20, Police arrested one person Letton Sangma from Depa Garat village (NGH) in connection with a kidnapping case under Mendipathar PS.

Criminal breach of trust

On August 20, Police arrested one person Lousingwell Sangma from Mendudam village (NGH) in connection with a criminal breach of trust case under Bajengdoba PS.

Robbery

Grinith S Sangma lodged a complaint at Rongjeng PS that on August 19 around 10.30 am, three persons Santing Marak, Girok Sangma and Obish Sangma went to his house at Naringgre village (EGH) and took away Rs. 1,50,000. Police arrested the accused persons.

Extortion case

Silling Sangma lodged a complaint at Songsak PS that on August 18 around 4.30 pm, one Santing Marak went to his residence at Jamge-8 village (EGH) and served a demand note.
