BJP meeting discusses law and order situation in Garo Hills

SHILLONG: A BJP core group meeting held here on Tuesday discussed the prevailing law and order situation of Garo Hills.

BJP members at the meeting decided that the party will again inform the Union Government over the law and order situation.

The meeting expressed happiness over the assurance of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, to State Home Minister Roshan Warjri for all assistance to bring back peace to the State, but the situation in Garo hills has reached an alarming proportion, the meeting observed.

The BJP core group meeting also decided to participate in the Garo Hills District Council elections, and the party decided to strengthen all the MDC constituencies in Garo Hills.

The meeting presided over by State president Khlur Singh Lyngdoh was attended by vice president David Ch Marak and general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty, among others.
