NEWDELHI: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, who landed in national capital on Friday after the oust-Mukul campaign gained momentum, could not meet any AICC leaders on Saturday to discuss the issue.

Sources said that Sangma, who has dismissed threat to his chair, is likely to stay back in Delhi for another two-three days, sources said on Saturday.

He could not meet any party leader here since it was a weekend.

Before leaving for New Delhi, Sangma on Friday told newsmen in Shillong that he was going to Delhi not to meet any Congress leader but to hold discussion on some developmental projects.

Recently, former chief ministers DD Lapang and Salseng C. Marak along with state transport minister HDR. Lyngdoh met Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath to “apprise” her of the prevailing political developments and the law and order situation in Meghalaya.

Sonia while expressing concern over the latest development had the assured the delegation that a ‘right decision’ would be taken at an appropriate time.
