SHILLONG: A lawyer lodged a complaint against unidentified miscreants who were allegedly extorting and misbehaving with pedestrians at 4th Furlong area of the city on Sunday.

The lawyer, Satendra Kumar alleged that the miscreants came in a police vehicle (ML 02 0242) and started creating nuisance in the area.

The lawyer, however, could not confirm if the people were police personnel since they were not in uniform. He alleged that the same group of people often came to the area to buy liquor and terrorized people. He alleged that the unruly people claimed that they are closely associated with the Chief Minister.

“When I called the SP (City), they immediately fled from the scene,” the lawyer, who lodged the complaint at Nongmynsong Police Outpost said.
