Kohima: The Nagaland unit of BJP has suspended two members Johnny G Rengma and Hayithung Bill Lotha from the party for ‘breach of party discipline’.

The Office Secretary of BJP Nagaland, Lachit Kachari, in a release today, said after Central BJP leaders strongly noted the breach of party discipline by Johnny and Hayithung, a joint meeting of the members of Disciplinary Action Committee and the BJP State Unit Office bearers at a meeting at the party head office in Dimapur on August 30 seriously deliberated the issue and decided to take disciplinary action against the two members.

The matter was again deliberated with the party legislator on September 1 who subsequently reaffirmed the decision, the release said.

The party said based on prima facie evidences as per the constitutional provisions and as empowered under the provisions of the party Constitution, State BJP President Dr .M. Chuba Ao has suspended both the two BJP members from both primary and active memberships of BJP Nagaland State Unit with effect from September 1.

‘The suspension order will be in force till such time they are able to reply to the show cause notice satisfactorily,’ the release said adding that failure to give satisfactory reply will invite further necessary disciplinary action as deemed fit under relevant sections of the party constitution.

Meanwhile, the State President has nominated Dr. K. Hoshi as the Additional Party Spokesman of BJP Nagaland and Lima Longchar as State Kisan Morcha In-charge with immediate effect.

The two members are expected to take over the new assignment diligently and function in the party line, the release said.(UNI)
