SHILLONG: Delhi Police has started a 24/7 Special Police Unit for North East People at Delhi, based at Nanakpura.
21 police officials from across the North Eastern states have been posted at the special unit.
The North Eastern states have a representation of 41 police personnel in Delhi Police which has a strength of 84,000 personnel. There is already a separate Helpline for North East people – 1093 which is manned by nine police officials from the North East who offer round-the-clock duty.
