11 children in fray for title of ‘dance champ’

SHILLONG: Eleven talented children from different districts of the State were declared as the finalists of ‘Dance Meghalaya Dance – Little Champ’, a first of its kind talent-hunt-show in the State, during the semi-final round held on Saturday.

These finalists were among 23 contestants who competed in the semi-finals held at Don Bosco Hall, Laitumkhrah.

The finalists include – Lucy Mary Diengdoh, Darihun Lapang, Lamphrang Sunn, Manjushree Joshi, Sylviana L Mawlong, Efylicia Lyngkhoi, Banskhem Kharkongor, Iamonlang Kharjana, Mark Syiemlieh, Heinidaman T Dkhar and Sofia Lapang, all under the age of 15 years.

Iamonlang Kharjana was awarded as the Best Performer of the Day during the semi-final round.

Out of the eleven, Sylviana L Mawlong bagged the highest score in term of points given by the judges and public votes.

The contestants will battle against each other for the title of the first Dance Meghalaya Dance – Little Champ during the Grand Finale scheduled to be held on October 4.

Event Manager Simi Khongthiang informed that the competition is based on public voting but added that the organizers tried their level best to ensure that the most talented dancers were selected for the Finale.”
