FIR against fake ration cards

SHILLONG: An FIR was lodged with Pynursla police outpost for alleged issue of fake ration cards to the beneficiaries.

As per the FIR lodged by CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing on Tuesday, there were unsigned BPL and Antyodaya Annapurna Ration cards issued by the Secretary Pynter village Eliphilis Nongrum way back in 2012 to the illiterate villagers falling under Pynursla Block Development office when Nongrum was the dealer.

According to Kharshiing, the matter has been brought to the notice of the DC (Supply) recently, but no action was taken against the alleged fake documents.

She also said that the present dealer continues to issue the PDS to the beneficiaries through the same ration cards and wanted the police to find out where the fake ration cards originated.
