Mysterious death of domestic help in EJH

SHILLONG: In a mysterious case, the body of a girl, who was working as a domestic help at the residence of one Md. Abdul Malik at Ladrymbai,East Jaintia Hills was sent in a Sumo to her mother residing in Karimganj, Assam raising suspicion of murder.

As per the recent FIR lodged by the mother at Khliehriat police station, it was on July 20, 2012, that she had sent her daughter to work as a domestic help at the residence of Md. Abdul Malik at Ladrymbai.

However, on September 29, 2012 at around 1.30 am, her daughter’s body was sent in a Sumo to her home at Baligaon under Badarpur police station, Karimganj district, Assam. The complainant alleged that her daughter was raped and murdered at Ladrymbai.

However, it is yet to be known why there was a delay in lodging the complaint.

When contacted, East Jaintia Hills SP MK Dkhar said on Tuesday that the case would be transferred to Assam since the place of occurrence was in Assam.

“Our Investigation Officer conducted the inquiry but the incident happened somewhere in Assam so it will be transferred to Assam police,” he said.
