Local holiday

The Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills District has declared September 18 as a local holiday on account of Unitarian Anniversary Day. All State Government offices, educational institutions under the Government of Meghalaya in the district shall remain closed on the day.

Silver jubilee

The Meghalaya College Non-Teaching Employees’ Association, Shillong, will hold the inaugural function of the annual general body meeting and celebration of the silver jubilee of the Association on Sept 13 at 1 pm at the St. Anthony’s College Auditorium. Director Higher and Technical Education, C.P. Gotmare, will be the chief guest.

Blood donation

St Anthony’s College will organize a voluntary blood donation camp on Sept 12 at 10 am in the Edu-Sat Hall of the College.

Birth anniv

Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre will observe the 160th birth anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru on Sept 14 at Anton Hall. Governor K.K. Paul will be the chief guest while legislator Jemino Mawthoh will be the guest of honour.

General meet

A general body meeting of the North-Eastern Hill University Alumni Association will be held on Sept 19 at 2 pm at the multi-use Convention Hall, NEHU Permanent Campus, Shillong. All past pupils of NEHU are invited to attend the same. Messages can be sent at [email protected].
