Theft

On September 11 around 10 am, one Charles Thongni (23) was apprehended by staff of Don Bosco Technical School, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, for stealing a mobile phone and attempting to steal a ladies hand bag and school bag from the school. Police arrested the accused.

On Sept 8 night, unknown miscreants broke into the quarter of Dr. Wandaplang Narry at Mawkyrwat CHC (SWKH) and stole a music system and other goods.

NGT ban violation

On September 10, while on vehicle checking duty Police detected one coal laden truck (AS-01-DD-0007) driven by Lurstep Kharbani at Sohpian village (WKH) in violation of NGT order. The driver was arrested and the truck seized.

On September 8, while on vehicle checking duty Police detected one coal-laden truck (ML-10A-7314) driven by Roming Jolong at Porsohsat village (WKH) in violation of NGT order. The driver was arrested and the truck seized.

Accident

On September 10 around 8 pm, one Tata Sumo (ML-05G-9777) knocked down Johnson Nongdhar (23) at Laitkor (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

On September 8 around 7.30 pm, one car (ML-05E-8973) driven by Flemingstar Ramsiej dashed against a guard wall at Umnongrim village (EKH). As a result, one occupant Siwen Marpna died on the spot while four others sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong. The body was handed over to the relatives after necessary formalities.

Mysterious death

Marphi Shylla lodged an FIR at Jowai PS that on September 10 around 1 pm, his brother Raplang Shylla was found unconscious at Mihmyntdu (WJH). He was shifted to Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai, where he died.

Assault

On September 10 around 8 pm, one Manas Jamatia assaulted his ex-employer Omega Ranee (32) at Omega Fast Food, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
