Speed up Jan Dhan Yojana: DC tells bankers

RESUBELPARA: North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner W. Khyllep held a meeting with bankers and other district officials on Thursday for speeding up implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna in the district.

Khyllep urged all the concerned departments, C &RD Blocks and the implementing agency to strive forward for 100 per cent achievement of the scheme within the time frame.

He set a deadline of December 31, 2014 for successful implementation of the scheme in the district.

The bankers sought the cooperation of the Block Development Officers of Resubelpara and Kharkutta in distributing the ‘one-sheet’ ‘zero balance’ account opening forms for individual households through the Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas in the district.

It was informed that certificate from the Nokma and EPIC along with passport size photographs are the basic documents required for opening the account.
