Abduction bid
Sunikal Ch Marak lodged a complaint at Baghmara PS that on September 9 around 12.30 am, six unidentified miscreants armed with pistols, broke into his house at Dasanggre village (SGH) and attempted to abduct him. On raising alarm, local residents came out and the miscreants fled towards Bangladesh. While fleeing, the miscreants fired at the residents but no one was hurt.
Threat
Bijosh B Marak of Konchikol village (NGH) lodged a complaint at Resubelpara OP that on Sept 9 around 3.30 pm, one Lohit R. Marak threatened to shoot him, in presence of the village Sordar and Nokma.
Rosa M.M. Kharhunai of Mawlai Nonglum, Ladskul, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on Sep. 11, one John Benneth Kharhunai threatened her and her children with dire consequences.
FIR and counter-FIR
Shanti Rani Das lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on September 9 around 4.30 pm, one Ganesh Das entered her house at Upper Lumparing, Shillong and outraged her modesty.
In a counter FIR Ganesh Das lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on September 9 around 9 pm, Shanti Das along with her son-in-law and three sons, went to his residence at Upper Lumparing, Shillong, created nuisance, manhandled his wife Chandi Das and also threatened him and his family members with dire consequences. He alleged that the accused filed a complaint against him at Laban PS, which was false and fabricated.
ATM fraud
Orensani Kikon lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on September 7, unknown miscreants withdrew Rs. 5,000 from her account through SBI ATM at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong.
M. Ch Marak of Police Reserve Jowai (WJH), lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on Sept 9 morning, he received a call from unknown person claiming to be SBI official and asked him about his ATM details. On Sept 10, he found that miscreants had fraudulently withdrawn Rs. 54,909 from his account.
Vehicle theft
Senghing D Sangma of DMR Quarters, Rynjah, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on April 12, 2014, he gave his brand new vehicle to one Ismael M. Marak for personal use but till date he did not return the vehicle to the complainant.
On Sept 12 around 9.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti local taxi (ML-05E-1786) belonging to Sujal Paul from Laban, Shillong.
On Sept 11 around 7 am, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero (ML-07B-0879) belonging to Bina M. Sangma from PHE Campus, Williamnagar (EGH).
On Sept 11 around 2.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (AS-06E-0342) belonging to Jetu Marak from Dokamcheng (NGH).
Privacy violation
A woman lodged a complaint at Tura PS that one person claiming to be Henry Sangma, uploaded her pictures on his Facebook account.
Molestation
Ridashanlang Tham lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on September 11 around 2.50 pm, one Alan Lalremsanga molested her near Youth Hostel, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.
Theft attempt
P.S. Syiem, Asst. Registrar of Companies, lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that assets belonging to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi were kept at the premises of Shillong Banking Corporation Ltd., Jail Road, Shillong. However, on Sept 10, the lock of the premises was found replaced by unknown persons.
Snatching case
On Sept 12 around 6 am, two unidentified miscreants in a local taxi (ML-05E-1786) snatched a gold chain from Ratna Das (58) at RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong.
