Disability assessment camp concludes at Garobadha

AMPATI: The day-long Disability Assessment Camp, organized by the Social Welfare department, South West Garo Hills in collaboration with the DRC, Tura Civil Hospital, concluded at Garobadha Higher Secondary School premises on Saturday evening.
Out of the total number of 187 persons who registered for the assessment, 107 were found eligible for the disability certificates.
According to District Social Welfare Officer, Ampati, L.J. Sangma, it is compulsory for all persons with disabilities (PWDs) to get themselves assessed and obtain disability certificates to attain the benefits being provided by the government through various schemes.
The assessment was conducted by specialists from Tura Civil Hospital.
