Idris Elba to release album inspired by Nelson Mandela
Actor Idris Elba is due to release an album of songs inspired by Nelson Mandela. For his studio debut,Elba has enlisted the help of artists including James Blake, Mumford and Sons, Mr Hudson and Nothembi Mkhwebane, reported Guardian online. Elba, 42, said he began listening to South African music when he was preparing to play Mandela in 2013’s ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’. “(It) was part of my research,” he said in a promo video.
“I wanted to understand what music (Mandela) liked, and so in that journey I discovered the roots of South African music … At the time I had (a) studio (in) the apartment I was staying in… A little keyboard, a laptop, and as an experiment to myself I vowed to keep making music,” he added. This is Elba’s first album as he has released three EPs and staged several one-off rap and DJ gigs. The album is titled Mi Mandela and will be out on November 24. (PTI)
Jenny McCarthy’s private photos leaked
TV star Jenny McCarthy’s private photos have been leaked from her hacked phone account. McCarthy,41, has informed the FBI about it and has also contacted all the websites to remove the pictures, reported E! Online.”Certain photos claiming to be hacked photos of Jenny McCarthy and posted to various websites are not McCarthy at all, but someone else, including the most explicit nude photos. A small number of photos are of McCarthy that were stolen from her hacked phone account,” her representative said in a statement. She is the latest major celebrity to have photographs stolen from her phone and splashed online, after actresses and models like Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff, among others. “McCarthy’s representatives are reporting the theft to the FBI and contacting all websites posting the photos to demand the immediate removal of all personal and private photos of her, including nude photos,” the statement added. Disney’s ‘Frozen’ slapped with USD 250 mn lawsuit
An author has sued Oscar-winning 3D computer-animated musical film ‘Frozen’ for USD 250 million,claiming that the movie’s story is based on her autobiography.’Frozen’ is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale ‘The Snow Queen’ but the author Isabella Tanikumi says it is her own own story about growing up in the Andean mountains of Peru, reported TMZ. Tanikumi says Disney plagiarised and copied the story, characters, and plots from her book. (PTI)
Holmes named face of Olay
Actress Katie Holmes has been named as the first ever global spokeswoman of American skin care line Olay.The 35-year-old mother of one, who has previously lent her famous face to Bobbi Brown Cosmetics campaigns, is currently the global ambassador for Alterna Haircare, reported E! Online. “I’m very excited. Olay is a brand I respect, trust and believe in. ‘KBC 8’ to travel to Raipur
After its successful launch in Surat, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s reality game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 8’ will now travel to Raipur. The 71-year-old actor, who sharing the news on his blog, said he has already started preparing for the show’s stint in the Chhattisgarh capital. “All this for the Raipur sojourn on KBC.. Preparations are on and again we hope to do as spectacularly as Surat…!!”. (PTI)
