PM condoles loss of lives, sanctions ex-gratia

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives in the states of Meghalaya and Assam due to floods and landslides.
Before leaving for the USA on Friday, Modi sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Rs.50,000 each to the seriously injured from the PM’s National Relief Fund. Ironically, the State Government is yet to sanction any ex-gratia to the relatives of those who were killed or injured in the floods and landslides.
