SHILLONG: Malki missed out on a penalty while Royal Wahingdoh rallied to a tight 1-0 finish in their Shillong Premiere League match on Friday. Brolington Warlarpih was guilty of failing to convert a 78th minute penalty for Malki as they trailed Wahingdoh by a goal from the 52nd minute onward.
The initial half lacked much excitement although Wahingdoh did come close to goal a few times. Malki’s young side did well to contain the experienced Royals’ attack and subsequently played out the first half without any goals being scored from either end. But a 52nd minute cross by Milancy made way for Nabachandra Singh to produce a powerful shot that whizzed into the nets. Malki earned a penalty in the 78th minute but Brolington’s shot was saved by a diving Prem Kumar Singh, allowing Wahingdoh to snatch a narrow 1-0 win.
Second Division:
Nongthymmai beat Madan Laban 2-1 after the latter levelled scores before throwing their efforts away by conceding a penalty. Nongthymmai’s lead came in the 31st minute through W. Muirang  for Madan Laban in the 52nd minute. Nongthymmai were then offered a penalty three minutes later which Muirang placed into the nets for the win.
