SHILLONG: The Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong has inform that to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti Day and as part of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India Campaign), the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs will conduct and organize the ‘Clean India Campaign Run’ on October,2 at 7.00 am from Madan Iewrynghep playground, Fire Brigade, Laitumkhrah towards St. Edmund’s School, Dhankheti, Barik Point, IGP, Kachari Road, Raj Bhavan road, Camel Back Road, Chief Secretary Residence, Polo Bazar, Demseiniong, Nongmynsong, Pynthorbah, Golf Link and will culminate at Parking Lot Polo Ground Shillong.

The total distance of the Run is 12.40 kms.

          The Run is open for both male and female participants and under different categories. For male and female below 16 years, for 16 years to 35 years and for above 35 years the cash prizes for all categories is

1st prize Rs. 10, 000/-, 2nd prize Rs. 7,500/- and 3rd prize Rs. 5,000/-.

There will be a run for fun which is a non competitive category.

          Special prizes for oldest and youngest participants who complete the run will be awarded.

          Entries/registration will be received in the office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong up to 1st October, 2014 at 4.00 pm. Participants will have to produce EPIC card or Municipal Birth  Certificate for age proof.
